British Ambassador presents the climate map to Minister of Environment

On the 22 of October, British Ambassador Peter Carter presented a UK developed climate map to the Minister of the Environment, Jaanus Tamkivi.  This map illustrates the global consequences of failure to keep climate change  under 2 degrees Celsius.

The map was launched at the Science Museum in London by the British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, Climate Change and Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, the UK`s Chief Scientist, Professor John Beddington, along with British Embassies around the world.

"The impact of climate change will be widespread and serious across the globe and it is vital that we achieve  the right results for the future of our planet from the  forthcoming climate change negotiations in Copenhagen," said the British Ambassador.

"This map accurately depicts what will occur if nothing stops the progressive climate changes. That is why international legislature on climate change  needs to be comprehensive and drastic " added Minister of Environment, Jaanus Tamkivi.

Ahead of December`s international climate change talks in Copenhagen, the British Government is aiming for an agreement that limits climate change as fas as possible to 2 degrees Celsius. Increases of more than 2 degrees will have a huge impact on the world.
