Royal Air Force Tornados fly over Tallinn (02/07/2009)

Two Tornado fighter aircraft of the Royal Air Force said farewell to Tallinn just after mid day on the 25th of June by making a low-level fly-over over the city. The two Tornadoes had been in Estonia to participate in the fly past excersize during the Victory Day parade in Jõgeva on June 23.

On June 22, prior to conducting the fly-over excersize, the Estonian Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament, Defence Minister and Chief of Defence Forces had an opportunity to inspect the Tornadoes and discuss operational issues with their flight crews.

The Tornadoes' presence in Tallinn, together with the visit of the Royal Navy aircraft carrier, HMS Illustrious, June 18 - June 22 underlined the United Kingdom's commitment to close defence co-operation with Estonia and our shared responsibilities for collective defence under the NATO charter.
